Meet Merdiye, our fabulous Walthamstow member. A Walthamstow local, she has been a part of the FOUNDRY community since the beginning of the year. “Working at FOUNDRY has been incredibly motivating and inspiring for me. Finding an office within walking distance of my home has been a long-time goal, and FOUNDRY has reshaped my working days with its location and wonderful view.” Merdiye is a founding partner and digital marketing strategist at Upvent Digital, specialising in developing digital marketing solutions and platforms tailored for brands. She is particularly passionate about analysing digital behaviour and developing strategies that align. When not enjoying the Walthamstow views at work, Merdiye loves to get out amongst them, enjoying running and long walks with her dog! An amazing programme to help you get things off the ground! 🚀
Are you or someone you know interested in starting up a new business? 🚀 BCP Council, through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is proudly funding a new business start-up programme, for up to 15 BCP residents interested in learning all the essentials for how to start a business and be their own boss. The Ignite programme, delivered by David Mutton of Poole based Evolve, has successfully helped create new BCP based start-ups since its inception at Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth last year. The new programme will take place at the co-working space FOUNDRY in Poole on 7 June 9am – 1pm and 14 June from 9am – 3pm. The programme content will include idea generation, marketing planning, accessing finance, and more. A free one-to-one session with the course leader is also available. After completion, subject to checks and verification, new business owners will be able to claim a £250 grant from BCP Council to go towards initial start-up costs. Participants must attend both sessions plus the separate one-to-one to be eligible for the grant. FOUNDRY is also offering a free day pass between sessions if you would like to try out the facilities and concentrate on your business plan. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
