I’m so proud to share that I’ve joined the Board of Development Ambassadors at Lighthouse, Poole, Dorset’s centre for the arts and a place that has always meant a lot to me.

Born and bred in Dorset, I grew up knowing Lighthouse as Poole Arts Centre. It’s always been part of the fabric of our community, but it became even more special after the birth of my third daughter, Matilda. Lighthouse gave us a space to bond after battling post-natal depression, experience something different together, and meet other parents with little ones.

For me, Lighthouse isn’t just about the building or the shows, it’s about the confidence it gives to young people stepping onto the stage for the first time, including my own daughters who have performed in school productions here. It’s about storytelling, opening doors into the world of theatre and the arts, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Most of all, it’s about being a place where families and the local community can come together to experience unforgettable performances right here in Dorset.

As a charity, Lighthouse reinvests everything back into its programmes, breaking down barriers to the arts, nurturing talent, promoting inclusivity, and supporting the local community.

Becoming part of the Ambassadors team is my way of giving back to a place that has become a staple in my favourite place to live and our community. I can’t wait to support Lighthouse in keeping the arts at the heart of Dorset life.
