Fully-funded business accelerator launches in Weymouth for local SMEs

A brand new, fully-funded Business Accelerator Programme is launching in Weymouth this month, offering high-impact support to help local micro businesses, grow, develop and thrive.

Delivered by the team at Evolve Advisory and funded by Dorset Council as part of the Weymouth Skills Hub, the four-week programme is designed for Weymouth-based businesses employing fewer than 10 people, including sole traders and early-stage businesses in their first three years of trading.

Running from Tuesday 30 September, with weekly evening sessions hosted at Weymouth Library (5.30pm–8.30pm), the programme will support up to 10 participants and is completely free to attend.

The programme will cover business fundamentals, including: 
•    Business planning and strategy
•    Financial management
•    Sales and negotiation
•    Branding and marketing
•    Leadership and influence

Each session will be delivered in-person, supported by one-to-one mentoring, and led by experienced business advisors, who understand the challenges and opportunities facing small business in Dorset.

Becky Phillips, Business Advisor at Evolve who will be delivering the programme, said:
