Local HR consultant Heidi Skirrow, founder of Skora HR, has achieved a Distinction in an advanced qualification in Employment Law,further enhancing her reputation as one of Dorset’s most knowledgeable HR professionals.

Already holding a Master’s Degree in Employment Law (LLM), Heidi chose to return to study to deepen her knowledge amid the rapid changes in UK employment legislation. Determined to stay at the forefront of her field, she completed an intensive six month programme led by Daniel Barnett, a leading employment law and commercial barrister from Outer Temple Chambers in London.

Daniel Barnett is widely recognised as one of the UK’s foremost voices in employment law, having co-founded the country’s leading online CPD training platform for lawyers (later acquired by Thomson Reuters) and authored ten books, including the Law Society Handbook on Employment Law.

The course involved in-depth weekly lectures covering every aspect of employment law, paired with practical, scenario-based seminars and assessments to put theory into practice. Balancing the demands of running a busy HR consultancy alongside her studies, Heidi says it was both challenging and rewarding and she was thrilled to finish with Distinction.

Her unique combination of hands-on HR experience and specialist employment law knowledge allows her to advise and protect businesses with confidence, offering solutions that are not only compliant, but commercially sound.

As new regulations, including the Employment Rights Bill, come into force in 2025 and 2026 and 2027, Heidi remains committed to helping organisations navigate the changes with complete confidence.
