This follows the previously announced retirement of founding Chief Executive Mark Sharman, who has led the organisation since its inception 40 years ago.
Adrian Dawson, Chair of the Board of Trustees, says:
“We are really pleased to welcome Katie Holland as the next Chief Executive of Help & Care. Following an extensive recruitment process, it was clear that Katie brings the vision, experience and values needed to lead the organisation into its next chapter.
As we make this transition, we also recognise the extraordinary contribution of Mark Sharman. Over the past four decades, he has built an organisation that has made a profound and lasting difference to people and communities.”
Katie Holland, newly appointed Chief Executive of Help & Care adds:
“I am absolutely delighted to be leading Help & Care into a new chapter, building on the incredible work and legacy that Mark is leaving and the vision and values he has instilled over the last 40 years. It’s a privilege to be taking the charity forward; and to ensure that the organisation continues to grow and further its impact for people and communities.
I’m excited to work alongside employees, partners and communities to keep championing wellbeing, and supporting and empowering those who need it.
It is a challenging time for the charity sector, which is why the work of organisations like Help & Care has never been more vital.”
Adrian Dawson further adds:
“We are confident that Katie will build on strong foundations and lead Help & Care with integrity, compassion and ambition. The Board looks forward to supporting her in continuing to grow the charity’s impact over the years ahead.”
