6 Reasons why we're becoming members of the FOUNDRY Co-working space in Poole

With multiple Total Guide's across the South, we're already fans of hybrid working but I must admit, we've been spending more time working from home than in an office environment. Until we had a tour of the FOUNDRY, we didn't quite realise how much we missed the buzz of an office environment. Or perhaps, the atmosphere there is so full of collaborative energy it's just something we immediately felt an urge to be a part of!

This £3million pioneering workspace is a base for up to 250 people in the Dolphin Centre in 2023 and offers flexible and affordable options for all sectors. From the county’s business leaders, untethered co-workers, and budding entrepreneurs from all business sectors.

We drove in for our tour and parked in The Dolphin Centre's muti-story car park as we'd come straight from meetings, and it was great to see the centre so busy and buzzing on a Friday lunchtime. Sadly, most town centres are ghost towns. In our opinion, The Dolphin centre is leading the way in bringing the high street back from the brink. Through diversifying they have created a hub for people to visit for a whole host of business and leisure reasons. The FOUNDRY is a key part of this.

What's even better, is the shops are thriving too as the centre is attracting more footfall! It was genuinely a really encouraging thing to see and I'm sure Poole Town Centre is leading the way for the regeneration of Town Centre's across the country.

Following our tour from co-founder Adam Walker and General Manager Ema Armstrong, we're certainly going to become members, and this is definitely something that would be advantageous to other businesses of all sectors and sizes. Here's Why:

  • Great Location and Transport Links - the FOUNDRY could not be in a more convenient location. Based in the heart of Poole Town Centre, it's next to the bus and train station, has a multi-story car park (which is subsidised for members), a bike store and you could even paddleboard to work if you wanted to!
  • A mix of membership options - these we'll suit the mix of our working style and needs; the FOUNDRY is split over two levels and comprises serviced offices called ‘studios’, an exclusive members’ lounge, and a bar area. The membership options include; flexible day passes for £25 per day, boutique members lounge (basically hot desking with access to the lounge facilities incl. a bar and unlimited tea and coffee!) £99+VAT, and Resident from £249 +VAT per month which gives you dedicated desk station and storage, or an office from £600+VAT per month where you can have a base for your office while using all of the other amenities
  • Collaboration - even though it has only just opened, you can already feel the buzz of the different businesses and personalities coming together. It will be a great networking opportunity and will no doubt be inspiring to be working around other motivated and ambitious people
  • Decor - the decor and style of the offices are extremely vibrant and inspiring. We love the way that it celebrates Poole; with art from local artists, FOUNDRY Lava Lamps by Mathmos who are the local brand who invented the original Lava Lamp back in the sixties! There's a circular sofa in the middle of the lounge which any members are welcome to use at any time. A really great place to have informal meetings without being in a traditional meeting room. However - there is sometimes a need for the traditional meeting space which are available to book and have big screens and everything you'd expect.
  • Flexibility - we have different needs for office space and meetings depending on the time of year and projects we're working on. I love that we will be able to use meeting rooms and the event space as and when we need it without a long-term contract.
  • On-site amenities - as well as the transport links, The Project Climbing Centre is next door, as well as a few gyms and the gorgeous Poole Park. Working here will really set you up for a healthy balance and you can easily include some exercise as part of your day or commute to or from
