Ford pleased to bring back Blue Riband event to Poole Speedway

Promoter Danny Ford was proud to bring back Poole Speedway’s Blue Riband meeting this season and added: “It is the perfect time for us to run this showcase event.”

The 16-rider individual contest will take place at Wimborne Road on Wednesday, September 24^th.

Former winners of the Blue Riband include the likes of Barry Briggs, Malcom Simmons, Tony Rickardsson and Darcy Ward.

Edward Kennett was the most-recent winner of the meeting, having claimed the Blue Riband in 2016.

Ford said: “We are working on the invitations currently and want this to be a tough meeting to win.

“There have been some notable names on the honours board for the Blue Riband and it is great to be able to run the event again this year.

“With the gap in the fixture list having run our home legs of the KO Cup and the BSN Series it is the perfect time for us to run this showcase event.

“I can confirm that our regular seven riders are all included in the line-up and over the course of the next few days we anticipate confirming the full sixteen man field. Tickets for the event are now on sale."

As a team, Pirates are still fighting for three trophies this season, with the SGB Championship, KO Cup and BSN Series still up for grabs.
