Ford's fixture frustration with home play-off semi-final to be staged on Tuesday
Poole Pirates promoter Danny Ford described as a “frustrating situation” the decision to stage their SGB Championship play-off semi-final on a Tuesday.
Pirates, synonymous for racing on Wednesday nights at Wimborne Road, will host the Redcar Bears on Tuesday September 9th in the first leg of their play-off tie (7.30pm).
Redcar are set to visit Oxford Cheetahs in the Knockout Cup on Wednesday September 10th, with Poole to visit Oxford in the BSN Series semi-final on Wednesday September 17th.
Ford explained: "It is not ideal to be staging a play-off semi-final on a Tuesday but to go on the next available Wednesday would mean waiting until 24th September, which would have been four weeks since our last home fixture.
“We did offer Redcar a Friday night, but that was declined.
“It is a very frustrating situation because we have done our job and completed our fixtures on time, yet with other BSN and KO cup ties dragging on, we have been left waiting around."
