Owner Ford excited to see rising stars Rushen and Cairns together at Poole Pirates

Poole Pirates owner Matt Ford revealed his excitement over seeing teenage duo Cooper Rushen and Will Cairns team up at reserve in 2026.

The rising British stars will both be 16 when the teams take to the tapes in the SGB Championship this season.

And owner Ford, who will be back among the crowd at Poole having finished a business venture in France, is looking forward to seeing what the pair can offer.

He told the Speedway Star: “Having two 16-year-olds getting out into the schools and the kids seeing people potentially their own age involved in the sport is great.

"They are both very marketable guys. They both speak easily, well and professionally. It will be of great benefit to the club.

"In Will and Cooper, what we have is two guys that are only just starting out on 500cc bikes professionally. How exciting.”

Pirates start their competitive campaign with a BSN Series group encounter against Plymouth at home on Good Friday, April 3rd.
