Pirates share team prize with Wolves at Klindt's testimonial
A Poole Pirates line-up of past and present riders shared the spoils with Wolverhampton in a four-team tournament, as the 2026 British speedway season opened with Nicolai Klindt’s testimonial meeting.
A Poole team, including 2026 racer Lewis Kerr, finished level with Wolverhampton after 16 heats of the meeting at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena.
Swindon (24) finished third with hosts Lynn scoring 20 points on the afternoon.
Tom Brennan (10), Brady Kurtz (5), Ben Cook (6) and Kerr (5) featured for the Pirates, with Brennan winning the best individual rider accolade on countback from Ryan Douglas.
Former Pirate and Poole favourite Klindt said: “I have to thank the boys for showing up and putting on a great show, even when the conditions weren’t the best.
“Thanks to Buster (Chapman), Luke and Paul at the stadium and everyone at the stadium who worked hard through the night and in the early morning.
“I was there at 9am in blue skies and sunshine, I knew there was a possibility of rain, and I’m pleased and appreciate everyone who was there along with the viewers of the stream at home.
“I want to thank my committee, my friends, family and sponsors, everyone who has supported the meeting with products or packages. They all know who they are, and I really appreciate it.”
