Pirates power past Bandits to continue impressive run
Pirates duo Zach Cook and Richard Lawson led from the front as they thumped Berwick 55-35 to keep up their impressive run of form.
Skipper Cook totalled 13+1 from five rides, while Lawson (pictured) again registered a paid maximum (13+2) as Poole recorded their fourth win in a row in all competitions.
The hardworking Paul Starke (9+2) put in a workmanlike display, taking a maximum seven rides after a first-bend spill meant Darryl Ritchings had to be withdrawn from the meeting after heat two.
Former British champion Craig Cook (10+1) top scored for the bandits, but Poole extended to five points their advantage on top of the SGB Championship – the win having also sealed them the aggregate bonus point.
