Pirates power to commanding position in KO Cup final
Poole Pirates are within touching distance of securing their first silverware of the season, after a commanding first-leg win against Redcar in the final of the Knockout Cup.
Poole sealed a 52-38 victory over the Bears at Wimborne Road, with Richard Lawson (14+1) and skipper Zach Cook (13+1) only dropping one point to an opposition rider between them.
Lewis Kerr (8+1) and Tobias Thomsen (6+1) also made useful contributions, as Poole built a 14-point advantage heading into the second leg at the ECCO Arena on Friday.

They will face Glasgow across two legs in the SGB Championship final, while also being set to compete in the final of the BSN Series.
