Kerr on form to propel Pirates to Championship grand final
Lewis Kerr was the star of the show as Poole Pirates kept their treble hopes alive by reaching the SGB Championship grand final.
The experienced British charger totalled 13 from five rides as Poole recorded a 48-42 win at Redcar this evening, with northern team boss Gary Havelock (pictured, right) at the helm.
Will Cairns (7) also impressed at reserve, as the Wimborne Road outfit managed to seal a 96-84 victory over the Bears on aggregate.
It means Pirates are now in the final of the SGB Championship, Knockout Cup and BSN Series, as they look to record a domestic treble for the second year in a row.
Poole will now host Redcar in the first leg of the Knockout Cup final on Wednesday October 8th, before visiting them in the second leg two nights later.
They will then host Glasgow in the final of the SGB Championship on Wednesday October 15th, before the second leg against the Tigers at Ashfield on Friday October 17th.
The ties for the BSN Series final are set to be arranged in due course, with Poole facing either Glasgow or Redcar in the final of that competition.
