The proposed redevelopment would see the stadium’s capacity increase from 11,286 to around 20,500, as part of a major upgrade led by club owner Bill Foley. The plans include a brand-new South Stand, expansion of the North and East stands, and the addition of seating in all four corners of the ground.
Tom Hayes praised the vision behind the project, describing it as an exciting opportunity for the town, however, he noted that some local concerns have been raised and is encouraging residents to share their views.
The proposals also feature modern facilities, including new fencing, relocated turnstiles, a ticket office, fan zone, and enhanced hospitality areas. Foley chose to redevelop the current site rather than build a new stadium, citing the five-to-six-year timeline a new build would have required.
A public exhibition will take place at Vitality Stadium on Monday 21st July from 3:30pm to 8pm, offering fans and locals the chance to explore the plans and speak directly with club representatives. Those interested in attending should email ops@afcb.co.uk in advance.
