A spectacular night of pure variety, raising funds for Melody

Many of us will remember the great days Variety, sadly not seen very often
these days, well this is about to change at the iconic Tivoli Theatre,
Wimborne.

Producer and show director Steve Shappelle promises you at night to remember and a community coming together for this wonderful little girl who needs all our help to literally save her life. 

All proceeds from this night will go to Melody, all the performers and organisers are giving their time totally free for this wonderful cause so dear to our hearts. 

Mum and Dad, Rachel and Kev, who live in Poole, know that Melody needs a miracle and time is running out. “For 11 long months, our beautiful daughter, Melody, has fought acute myeloid leukaemia with more bravery than we can put into words. We’ve now been told that there are no further treatment options available for her in the UK, and that palliative care is the only path left BUT THERE IS ONE LAST HOPE. Thanks to our incredible oncology team at UHS, we have found a drug that could save Melody’s life but it is only available in America. After an urgent specialist request, we have received approval from the MHRA to import and use this treatment for Melody. She would be the first child in England to receive this drug. The devastating reality is that the NHS cannot fund it and the cost is over £20,000 per month! This medication could help Melody reach long-term remission until she is strong enough for a second bone marrow transplant in two years’ time. This drug is her lifeline to the future. Every pound matters. Every second counts. This could truly save her life.”

Anita is a true show business legend and British icon, the word “star“ is used loosely these days but Anita is a true STAR in every way. Anita actually moved to Bournemouth at the age of seven. Her career has been nothing other than incredible She began as a figure skater at London's Queens Ice Rink, later training as a choreographed skater in Las Vegas. She shot to stardom in the 1960’s with hits "Just Loving You" (1967), which stayed in the UK Top 40 for months, followed by "Anniversary Waltz" and "Dream a Little Dream of Me". Many of us will remember her wonderful appearances in the Carry On Movies, That Camel and Carry On Doctor. Anita also worked on television as assistant to magician David Nixon for eight years in the 1970s and starred in children’s series Jumbleland as Witch Witt Witty. She was highly acclaimed for her debut role in the West End Production of Andrew Llyod Webber's amazing production of “Cats” as Grizabella, with one of musical theatre's greatest songs “Memory“. She has continued to perform in cabaret, pantomime, and guest-starred in TV shows like Midsomer Murders and EastEnders. We are so proud to have Anita coming back to her beloved Bournemouth, to headline this amazing night.

TOMMY J 

A sensational comedy juggler. Some of you will remember him from Britains Got Talent. He now finds himself on major cruise liners all over the world and with his own show across the UK, including the London Palladium. He is a proud member of the Grand Order of Water Rats, the world's most exclusive entertainment fraternity and show business charity; he holds the distinction of being the youngest member in the Orders history since it formed in 1889. 

MARK SHORTLAND

As British Magic Champion and a Member of The Inner Magic Circle, Mark Shortland has entertained audiences around the world. From regular performances at The Magic Castle Hollywood, to a starring role in the US TV show Penn & Teller: Fool Us, to sell out shows at The London Palladium and Blackpool Opera House, and performing on the top luxury cruise liners as they sail the seven seas. Mark’s fun packed performances engage audiences with a mixture of illusion, audience participation and a unique brand of comedy. He is also a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats.

TESORO

Simon and Karen are a Superb Classical Crossover and Popera Duo from Portsmouth. They bring their breathtaking brand of vocals. You will fall in love with them – they are magical! They have toured all over the UK and are firm favourites wherever they perform.

TYLER JAMES

Tyler lives in Poole and has been in show business for 25 years. He has travelled all over the UK with his own Cabaret show. He will be bringing his amazing voice and personality, with hits from the 50’s and 60’s to get everyone toe tapping and singing along. 

STEVE SHAPPELLE 

Your host and compére for this wonderful evening. Steve celebrates 54 years in show business this year. He has done the lot - from theatre producer, director to writing stage musicals, actor, stand-up comedian, singer and legendary pantomime dame. He’ll certainly get you in the mood for this wonderful night with his unique style and great personality. You will be the real stars of the show by supporting Melody who so desperately needs us at this unimaginable time. You will need to please bring some CASH with you to help us raise more on the night.
