Top Things to do in Corfe Castle

Fun fact, Corfe Castle is in fact the name of the village, so the rather famous landmark is the castle at Corfe Castle.

In the area? If you want to know what to get up to during your visit, look no further as we have worked hard to put together our favourite recommendations for those must-do activities and must-see landmarks - cameras at the ready, those views are something else!

Grab a takeaway lunch box

The perfect accompaniment for a hike along the Purbeck coastal path, pick up your takeaway lunch box from Kingston Country Courtyard and enjoy whilst overlooking the beautiful sights along the way.

Explore Corfe Castle

You can’t visit Corfe Castle without a walk around the castle itself! The ruins, maintained by the National Trust, are probably one of the most famous landmarks in the UK and are fantastic to explore and picture life in bygone eras. If walls could talk, you know these ones would have a lot of stories to share!

Hike to Chapman’s Pool

Another fantastic local hike is to Chapman’s Pool - well worth the walk for the views across the water! Make sure you follow up with a pink and Dorset Apple Cake at the Square and Compass, the ultimate post-hike pub.

Climb Aboard the Swanage Steam Train

Journey back in time with a trip on the traditional steam train, which runs between Corfe Castle and Swanage. Trips are reasonably priced and you can even bring along your furry friend as the train is dog-friendly. Plus they have fantastic events throughout the year including the chance to meet Santa in the run up to Christmas!

Discover Dorset Adventure Park

Dorset Adventure Park is set across 18 acres of woodland and lakes with views across to Corfe Castle. Each of the lakes feature obstacles to tackle with plenty of inflatables to challenge the whole family (minimum age 6 years). Meanwhile the mud trail offers an alternative adventure over 2km, suitable in all weathers.

Feel Like a Giant at Corfe Castle Model Village

Fun for all ages, the Corfe Castle Model Village is just steps from the castle and is a fun activity to enjoy during your visit. The model village has giant games to play in the garden during warmer weather and an onsite cafe to enjoy a warming hot drink when it gets colder.

Rock Pool in Kimmeridge Bay

Head over to Kimmeridge Bay, a stunning Special Area of Conservation along the Purbeck coastline and enjoy rock pooling, snorkeling or just a good old fashioned walk along the bay and beach.

Sunday Lunch at The Fox Inn

Make sure not to miss out on Sunday roast at The Fox Inn. Not only is their food phenomenal, the pub overlooks the castle and its surroundings and has an open fire, ideal for those colder months.
