Not only does it boast three fireworks displays for the price of one, but there’s free entertainment from the region’s top professional fire performers, a Foo Fighters tribute band, more street food stalls than ever before, a giant funfair, free have-a-go sports on the Littledown pitches and the free Indoor Family Zone with bouncy castles and the Revolution Cheerleading Academy.
"Bournemouth Fireworks is much more than a fireworks show, it’s a brilliant family night out that has been part of Bournemouth’s Bonfire Night celebrations for more than 25 years,” says event director Ben Dyas.
“We see new people every year, but there are loads of folks that come year after year – in fact, people that came as kids in the early years are still coming and even bringing their own children now!"
Bournemouth Fireworks is the only local event with three displays, at 7pm, 8pm and the famous White Knuckle at 9pm. The early show is a family favourite preceded by breathtaking displays from the fire performers, as is the 8pm show. It’s the busiest and most popular of the three displays and organisers have promised a special surprise that’s being kept under wraps until the night.
The final show of the night, the 9pm White Knuckle is still the latest and loudest fireworks display in the south. Shorter than the earlier shows it is jam-packed with noise and colour.
New for this year, there’s a bigger bar, more hot drinks and more street food stalls.
Outside, as well as the popular funfair with its giant rides, there are have-a-go sports sessions on the Littledown pitches for the over-fives with Dodgeball and a penalty shoot out contest run in 30 minutes sessions at 5.25pm, 6.25pm, and 7.25pm.
Bournemouth Fireworks has worked with Pains, the UK’s largest professional fireworks company, since the event started in 1998. Pains is leading the field in sustainability, offsetting the emissions of each display in partnership with the tree-planting charity Just One Tree. They also minimise their environmental impact by using bio-LPG fuel, fireworks with recyclable casings, and water-soluble confetti.
Early bird tickets available until 2 November with family tickets just £28. Adults are £10 (£12 final release) and children £7 (£8 final release), with under 3s going free.
Gates open at 5pm.
