Your Total Guide To entertainment
Our girls absolutely loved helping us choose and pick the sunflowers, and we might have gone a little overboard – walking away with three full bunches! At just £5 for 6 stems (any size) including entry for up to 4 people (loan of secateurs included) , or just £1 entry per person, it’s a bargain. Even better, once you’ve picked your blooms, there’s a lovely area set up with ribbons provided so you can tie and arrange your perfect arrangement – a really thoughtful touch that makes the experience extra special.
Lots of the activities on site are included in the price too – from the musical stage with upcycled instruments and a fancy dress area to basketball hoops and endless photo opportunities amongst the blooms.
There are also many additional activities available at a small extra cost – but prices are really reasonable, and you could easily spend a full morning or afternoon here making memories.
Highlights for our family included the Jam Patch stage (the shovel-drum kit was genius!), the fancy dress, and of course wandering through the sunflowers themselves. Although we skipped the Maize Maze this time (we’re saving it for the pumpkin patch and spooky maze in October), there was still so much to keep everyone entertained. From the Arts and Crafts area, giant bubbles, and graffiti spray wall, there’s something for all ages.
Top Tips for Visiting Sunflowers at Picking Patch
Pick wisely – the tallest, heaviest sunflowers look amazing, but you’ll need a big vase at home to hold them!
Take advantage of the bouquet station – ribbons are provided so you can tie and create your perfect bunch on site.
Plan for time – with so many free and paid activities, you can easily spend a whole morning or afternoon here.
Dress for the fields – if it’s been rainy, bring wellies or sturdy shoes (it's currently very dry)
Bring your phone/ a camera – there are so many Instagram-worthy photo spots you won’t want to miss.
Dogs not allowed on site except registered guide dogs.
Budget a little extra – lots of activities are included, but the additional ones are great value and worth trying.
Facilities-wise, the site is well set up with porta loos, an ice cream van, and fantastic coffee and cakes from Wimborne Coffee – the perfect refuel after all that fun.
A day here is more than just sunflower picking – it’s a colourful, activity-filled family adventure. We’ll definitely be back for pumpkins and the Halloween maze this autumn!
