Shake & Stir Vintage Music Festival returns as a two-day Armed Forces Weekender celebrating vintage music, dance, heritage and community with live performances, displays and family-friendly activities at Fisherman’s Walk in Southbourne.

The much-loved Shake & Stir Vintage Festival returns in 2026 as the Shake & Stir Vintage Armed Forces Weekender, a two-day celebration honouring service, heritage and community spirit. The event combines vintage culture, live music and dance with a renewed focus on recognising the Armed Forces, veterans and the stories that connect the community to service at home and overseas.

What to expect:

• Live music and dance inspired by the 1940s–1960s
• Dance displays and workshops including Lindy Hop, Jive, Swing and Bollywood dance
• Military heritage and history hub with vehicle parade/static displays and exhibitions (including Commonwealth and Indian Army contributions with BCP Indian Association)
• Family and festival atmosphere with children’s vintage games, traders, food and drink, raffles and volunteering opportunities
• Veterans, skills and community features including charity presence, skills demonstrations, first-aid awareness and remembrance moments
• Armed Forces ceremonial programme such as parade/march-past, Beating the Retreat, Royal Marines Commando Display Team, cadets and reservists showcase
