Hamworthy Park Play Area to Be Refurbished in 2026 – Top Priority in BCP’s Plan for Play!

Big news for local families and park lovers — Hamworthy Park has officially been named the top priority for play area investment in BCP Council’s newly unveiled Plan for Play.

Following assessments across the region, Hamworthy Park's play area was ranked number one for refurbishment, reflecting both the community’s strong need for improved facilities and the worn condition of the current playground. The exciting redevelopment is scheduled for 2026, and will bring a full upgrade to the much-loved family space.

Community Consultation Coming Soon

As part of the process, a public consultation will launch soon, inviting residents and park visitors to share their ideas for the space. Alongside the children’s play area, there may also be opportunities to improve other parts of the park — including the basketball court, football area, and tennis courts.
