Tell us about the type of music you make and a hint into what your set will be like.
When I wrote songs I didn’t have a specific genre, I would write down and sing about what I felt in that moment however, now that I’ve gone more into the acting side of things I put my words into scripts and read them instead. In my set I’ve included a bit of everything and a teeny tiny bit of musical theatre as well
How many festivals have you played? Do you have a favourite so far?
This is my first one, so I have absolutely no idea what to expect
Which one of your songs gets the most high-energy response from a live crowd?
I guess from singing on a stage and doing shows the songs that get the best attention are actually the songs that you can really connect with and tell a story with however if we are looking at night energy it would be a song that everyone knows and can sing along to.
Whether you’re attending or performing, what’s your favourite thing about festivals?
Again, I have never been so I’m nervous but I’m excited, I think my favourite thing will be pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and being proud of that wether it goes horribly wrong or perfectly well!
Family Fest Dorset have over 10 live music acts from local musicians across Saturday and Sunday. Which other performance do you want to catch?
I know that some students from leaf studio school (my old school) are performing so it would be nice to see how they are getting involved with it.
How does the atmosphere at outdoor venues like Family Fest compare to indoor venues?
I have done shows and plays inside, never outside so I don’t know how it would compare yet but I do know that inside its quiet and easy to grab the attention of people I feel it will be a little bit busier outside so it will make me work harder to grab the attention of others which I think will be actually quite beneficial for me and my growth.
Do you have any pre-show rituals before you head on stage?
Panic, a little pep talk in the mirror, panic again, down a few glasses of water (while panicking) have a run through and go over some last minute things, come to the realisation that I’m going to be fine, realise the time – panic again – step on stage “this is ok”
