Kerr 'on top of the world' as Pirates extend lead at summit
Poole Pirates charger Lewis Kerr said he felt “on top of the world” after they extended their lead at the top of the SGB Championship.
Neil Middleditch’s side produced an emphatic 58-31 win over fellow high-flyers Scunthorpe at Wimborne Road.
Will Cairns (13+1) top scored for the hosts, while there were also key contributions from guest Jordan Jenkins (11+2) and skipper Zach Cook (10+1).
Kerr’s paid eight would have been more had he not suffered a technical issue in his opening ride.
Nevertheless, the Poole racer was pleased to come away with another dominant win as the Pirates went four points clear at the summit.
He said: "I feel on top of the world to be honest, it was nice to win it so easily in the end.
“There were a few little things early on and that seemed to let Scunny in a little bit. I did a spark plug when leading and little things like that, but yeah, in the end a great win.
“We are making this place, you know, a tough place to come and it helps when you've got such a good home-track advantage and you've all got good setups it gives you confidence going into the proper stuff at the end of the season. So, we will just keep it going.”
