Poole Pirates skipper Worrall pleased to put on a show in 'dress rehearsal' with final spot secured
Poole Pirates captain Steve Worrall gives his reaction after booking their place in the SGB Championship play-off final
Super skipper Steve Worrall was pleased to see Poole Pirates “finish the job” and rubber-stamp their place in the SGB Championship play-off final.
The British star totalled 11+2 from five rides on the way to helping his troops seal a comfortable 55-35 success over Edinburgh at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.
Richard Lawson top-scored with 13 points for the hosts, while Aussie brothers Zach Cook (11+2) and Ben Cook (9) also weighed in with hefty contributions.
Victory for the Dorset club ensured they would progress out of Play-off Group A ahead of the Monarchs and Scunthorpe.
After completing their group campaign at Edinburgh on Friday, Poole will either meet Glasgow or Oxford in the final – as they look to seal the title for the third successive year.

Speaking after his team’s triumph over the Monarchs, Worrall said: "We did the hard work at Scunthorpe to put us in the driving seat and so tonight (Wednesday) we were able to treat this as something like a dress rehearsal.
“No disrespect to Edinburgh, they put up a good fight, but we were able to try different things and have a play around with the track and kind of had a bit more dirt out wide.
“Obviously, it's getting cooler and the bikes react differently so it was good for us to try these things.
“It could be two weeks now before we ride again here and things can change but our attentions turn now to Edinburgh on Friday.
“We don't need heroes. Obviously, there is a time and place for those and Scunny was that place for us last week, so we can just go to Edinburgh and make sure we manage what we did here and finish the job."

Having already sealed the inaugural BSN Series crown earlier this campaign, Poole could still land a domestic treble.
As well as the league finale, team manager Neil Middleditch's charges have also booked their spot in the final of the Knockout Cup.
