Poole Pirates star Zach Cook

'Immense' Zach is back to boost Pirates in 2024

Poole Pirates promoter Danny Ford welcomed back Zach Cook to the fold for 2024 before labelling his previous performances as “immense”.

Cook joins brother and captain Ben at Poole once again next season, as well as Richard Lawson, Tom Brennan and Sam Hagon – leaving Poole with two more spots to fill.

The 24-year-old Aussie is set to head back into the Pirates septet for the third consecutive year.

Ford said: "I am guessing this won't come as much of a surprise to our fans as Zach has made a big impact on the club since we signed him fully in 2022, and his inclusion in the side certainly gives us possibly one of the strongest top fours in the division.

“His performances in, what is described as, the engine room of the side have been immense.

“I really believe he can improve beyond that and push for a heat leader berth."

Cook arrives at Pirates on an SGB Championship average of 6.22 next season.
