Bournemouth and Poole summer fireworks return: Full 2026 dates announced

Residents and visitors are in for a fantastic treat as Bournemouth and Poole’s much-loved summer fireworks series returns, bringing vibrant displays along the seafront once again.

Taking place across the summer season, the free events will light up the skies with colour, music and a great atmosphere for all ages to enjoy.

Each evening will offer the perfect opportunity for families, friends and visitors to gather by the coast, soak up the summer vibes and watch the night sky come alive with a carefully choreographed display.

Cllr Richard Herrett, Portfolio Holder for Destination, Leisure & Commercial Operations at BCP Council, said: “Fireworks are a real highlight of the summer calendar, and we’re delighted to see them return again through the summer. They bring our communities together and create lasting memories for both residents and visitors alike.

“With this summer's programme in place, these events will bring a boost to the local economy, supporting our valued businesses.

“I encourage everyone to come along, make the most of the vibrant atmosphere, and take time to explore and support our excellent hospitality venues before enjoying a fantastic display.

“I’d like to thank Bournemouth Coastal BID for their contribution in funding the programme.”

This year’s programme is supported with funding from Bournemouth Coastal BID. The BID’s investment supports six weeks of displays in Bournemouth. This investment reflects the importance of the events to the local visitor economy, helping to enhance the visitor experience, encourage longer stays and drive additional spending for local hotels and seafront businesses.

Fiona McArthur, Head of Bournemouth Coastal BID, said: “Bournemouth Coastal BID is delighted to support the return of Bournemouth’s summer fireworks programme on behalf of our hoteliers and seafront levy paying businesses.

“Feedback from local hoteliers and hospitality venues consistently highlight the fireworks as one of the attractions that visitors value most during the summer. By helping to fund the fireworks we are helping to enhance the visitor experience, encourage longer stays and generate additional spending for businesses.

“The events play an important role in maintaining Bournemouth’s reputation as one of the UK’s leading coastal destinations and we are pleased to be working alongside BCP Council to deliver another successful summer programme.”

Andy Lennox, Destination Management Board Chair, said: “I’m delighted that through positive collaboration across the conurbation we’ve managed to keep our summer fireworks programme alive. These displays bring people together, support local businesses, boost our visitor economy and create fantastic memories for families. It’s a great example of what can be achieved when organisations work together towards a common goal. Long may it continue.”
