Corfe Castle Transforming Hill Into a Giant Slip and Slide

Plans have reportedly been unveiled to transform the hill beneath Corfe Castle into a giant slip and slide this spring.

The new attraction is said to be part of a “family-friendly outdoor experience” designed to bring a fresh, interactive twist to one of Dorset’s most historic landmarks.

Early proposals suggest the installation would:
    •    Run from the base of the castle hill down into the village
    •    Use a continuous water system to keep conditions “optimally slippery”
    •    Offer timed slots for visitors, with priority booking during weekends and school holidays

A spokesperson involved in the plans said:

“We wanted to create something that blends history with fun. What better way to experience Corfe Castle than from the bottom of a slip and slide?”

Safety measures are expected to include:
    •    Optional helmets
    •    Designated splash zones
    •    A “slow lane” for first-time sliders

If approved, installation could begin…
on April 1st.
