ELIZABETH I AT LONGLEAT
This September marks 450 years since Queen Elizabeth I visited Longleat during her 1574 Progress through the West Country!
Discover this significant event in Longleat’s early history through a display of original documents relating to the visit.
Against the backdrop of the Great Hall – Longleat’s only surviving Elizabethan interior – visitors will also be able to view Elizabeth I costumes from film and TV, including sumptuous replica coronation robes worn by Cate Blanchett and a magnificent gown worn by Dame Helen Mirren.
Location:
- Great Hall and Lower Hotplate Corridor
Times:
- Can be viewed as part of a Guided House Tour, which take place every 15 minutes
Prices:
- House Tours are available as an add-on experience to a Day Ticket or Membership and will incur a small additional charge
