Gareth Malone brings his movie singalong to Bournemouth Pavilion this November
Bournemouth Pavilion is in for a singalong this autumn, with Gareth Malone bringing his new live show to the seafront in November.
The broadcaster and choirmaster, often credited as the man who got the nation singing, plays the Pavilion on 12 November as part of his Sing-A-Long-A-Gareth: At The Movies UK tour. Following last year's singalong tour, this brand-new show swaps the choir stalls for the big screen, turning some of cinema's best-loved songs into one big shared performance.
The line-up reads like a trip through the movies. Expect to belt out Singin' in the Rain, Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's, Stayin' Alive from Saturday Night Fever, Take My Breath Away from Top Gun and City of Stars from La La Land, along with a Bond medley featuring Nobody Does It Better and Live and Let Die. There's plenty for families too, with music from Frozen, How Far I'll Go from Moana and Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing from Sing.
Malone will be backed by his live band and vocalists, joined on stage by local choirs, and the good news for the less confident among us is that no singing experience is needed to take part. He has described it as a joyful, movie-themed night out, built around the simple pleasure of a room full of people singing together. It promises to be a proper feel-good evening.
