Illuminated Halloween Trail returns with brand-new encounters
Now firmly established as one of the region's most popular Halloween events, Moors Valley Country Park and Forest will host its hugely popular illuminated trail for the third spine-tingling year.
Packed with brand-new features for 2026, the trail combines the natural atmosphere of the forest with immersive attractions, theatrical characters and unexpected thrills. As darkness falls, the woodland is transformed into an eerie world of shifting shadows, strange happenings and an unforgettable experience for those brave enough to venture deeper.
Taking place over ten nights from Friday 23 October to Sunday 1 November, visitors of all ages are invited to step beyond the ordinary into a world where nothing is quite as it seems. This year's trail introduces a host of brand-new encounters: Make an appointment with the Demon Barber if you dare; navigate the treacherous path through a Carnivorous Garden; and witness a mysterious Forest Ritual.
The trail opens from 4pm, with final entry at 9pm. Tickets are allocated in timed entry slots, giving visitors the flexibility to select a visit time that suits them best. Earlier sessions bring a fun and atmospheric Halloween adventure for younger guests, before the scare factor is ramped up for thrill seekers visiting later in the evening.
A tempting selection of seasonal food and drink will be available to enjoy along the way. Look out for Halloween favourites including the Pumpkin King Burger, the Grave Digger and Frankenstein’s Finger. Kids’ meals, meat free and gluten free options will be available. Satisfy your sweet tooth with fluffy marshmallow cones drizzled with chocolate or toffee sauce or sip on an indulgent hot chocolate.
With limited availability, visitors are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred date and time. Ticket prices start from £15 for adults, £9 for children (ages 3 to 16) and £44 for a family of four. Dogs on leads are welcome. Forestry England Members and Moors Valley Season Ticket Holders are able to benefit from free parking.
