The Swanage Railway Community Weekend is a fantastic opportunity for families to get a rare chance to peek behind the scenes. Designed as a relaxed, welcoming event, it invites visitors to meet the passionate volunteers who keep the railway running and discover what happens behind the doors that are normally closed to visitors

Children can explore the railway up close, learn how trains work and enjoy a hands-on introduction to this much-loved local attraction.

Railway 200 Inspiration Train - 16th - 18th February

History comes to life at Corfe Castle Station with the arrival of the Railway 200 Inspiration Train, a travelling exhibition celebrating 200 years of Britain’s railways.

This immersive exhibition offers families a fascinating look at how railways have shaped the country, from early engineering breakthroughs to their lasting impact on travel and communities. Designed to be engaging and accessible for children, the exhibition blends storytelling, visuals and interactive elements to inspire the next generation of railway enthusiasts.
