Wimborne Model Town

Wimborne's Little Treasure since 1952.

Fun for all ages set in delightful gardens, with a tearoom, shop and many indoor & outdoor attractions.

Wimborne Model Town is a 1/10th scale representation of Wimborne’s town centre as it appeared in the 1950s.

This charming miniature world invites visitors to step back in time and explore Wimborne as it was over 70 years ago. Set within nearly an acre of mature gardens, the site features a wealth of intricate details that have been added over the years. Visitors can get up close to the buildings, and even touch them, making it an engaging and immersive experience for all ages.

Like Gulliver, you can wander the 1950s streets of Wimborne. Peer down into the Butchers, the Ironmongers, the Bakery and the Fishmongers. Let the shop window displays show how much everyday life has changed in the last 70 years.

Gardens at Wimborne Model Town

The gardens surrounding the Model Town were established in the late 1980s and have provided enjoyment for visitors ever since. They are a source of pride, maintained year-round by dedicated volunteer gardening teams working on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The gardens feature a variety of areas including herbaceous borders, a vegetable garden, rockery, miniature river system, shrubs, and trees. A sensory garden adds grasses, water and wind features, along with seasonal colour and fragrance. Plenty of seating is available throughout for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
