Prevail Skatepark Bournemouth Review: One of the Coolest Indoor Activities for Kids in Bournemouth

If you’re looking for something a little different from the usual soft play or trampoline park, Prevail Skatepark in Bournemouth is such a brilliant option.

We visited with my 8 and 5 year old and what I loved most was that they both got just as much enjoyment out of it - racing each other, watching each other, encouraging each other. It had that lovely sibling energy where they were genuinely sharing the experience.

And as indoor activities in Bournemouth go, this one has serious cool factor.

A Great Location with Proper Skatepark Vibes

Prevail is in a really convenient Bournemouth location with easy access and parking nearby, which immediately makes life simpler when you’ve got kids and kit in tow.

As soon as you walk in, you feel the vibe. It’s cool but welcoming. Proper skate culture without being intimidating. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already confident on wheels, it feels inclusive.

There are ramps, transitions, foam pits and space to practise skills safely. It caters for skateboards, scooters and BMX, so you’ll see a real mix of ages and abilities using the space.

Great for All Ages

Sometimes with indoor activities, one child ends up more engaged than the other. That definitely wasn’t the case here.

Both girls found their level and pushed themselves in their own way. The younger one loved the independence of navigating the ramps, while my older one enjoyed testing herself and picking up speed.

It’s energetic, confidence-building and brilliant for coordination.

Lots of Seating & Proper Viewing Areas

From a parent perspective, it’s really well set up.

There’s plenty of seating and clear viewing areas so you can see all the action without hovering. You’re close enough to cheer them on (or remind them about helmets), but comfortable enough to relax too.

And if you want to get involved and help them build confidence, you absolutely can.

A Café That’s Actually Worth Mentioning

Let’s talk about the café - because it’s genuinely good.

Proper coffee. Hot food options. A space you’d happily sit in even if you weren’t supervising a small human flying down a ramp. It feels like part of the experience rather than an afterthought.

That makes such a difference when you’re planning to stay for a full session (or longer).

Sessions, Lessons & Booking Info

Prevail Skatepark runs structured sessions, so it’s best to book ahead online - especially during weekends and school holidays in BCP when it gets busy.

They also offer lessons for those wanting to build skills and confidence, which is brilliant if your child is keen to progress.

If you’re planning a celebration, Prevail is also a fantastic birthday party venue in Bournemouth. With private party options and dedicated areas, it’s a high-energy, memorable way to celebrate without the stress of organising entertainment yourself.

Final Thoughts

Prevail Skatepark in Bournemouth strikes that perfect balance between cool and family-friendly. It’s energetic but well run, exciting but inclusive, and somewhere both younger and older children can genuinely enjoy together.

It's conveniently located in Richmond Gardens Shopping Centre in Bournemouth, which makes it really easy to build into a wider day out. There are plenty of parking options nearby, including the central Bournemouth car parks just a short walk away, so arriving is straightforward even during busier periods. It’s worth checking their website before you visit too, as they run a variety of different sessions and events - including dedicated toddler sessions, girls-only nights once a month, coaching sessions and special events. The range of options means there’s something for every age and confidence level, and it’s great to see them actively creating inclusive opportunities within the local skate community.

It’s not just somewhere to burn energy - it builds confidence, resilience and skills too.

If you want an indoor activity in Bournemouth that feels a little different, a little cooler and a lot of fun, Prevail is absolutely worth a visit.
