Your Total Guide To families

The event, which regularly draws visitors from across the BCP area, mixes family entertainment with fundraising for the station’s volunteer crew. On the water, expect a dragon boat display and stand-up paddleboard races, alongside lifeboat demonstrations from the Mudeford crew. The duck race across the Run returns too, with hundreds of ducks sent off from the quay in front of the watching crowds.
On dry land there’s live music and a DJ running through the day, a funfair, and more than 30 stalls selling art, crafts and gifts. Food and drink includes a crew-run barbecue and cake stall, and the Dorset Austin 7 Club will have a display of vintage cars on site.
Given how busy the quay gets, organisers are running a Park and Free Ride service from Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre car park throughout the day, ferrying visitors to and from the entrance.
Money raised on the day goes directly to Mudeford RNLI, whose volunteer crew are on call around the clock, every day of the year, along the local coastline. According to the RNLI, the station’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Henrietta H, has already launched 55 times in 2026, following 77 launches in 2025. Organisers describe the Funday as one of the highlights of the Christchurch summer calendar, and say every donation helps keep the volunteer crews on the water.
The Funday opens at 11am and runs through the afternoon at Mudeford Quay and Green.
