REVIEW: Sunday Brunch at The Noisy Lobster, Christchurch
There are few better places to spend a crisp, sunny autumn morning than The Noisy Lobster in Christchurch. Set right on Avon Beach, this stunning restaurant offers breathtaking sea views, and on our visit, we were lucky enough to have a crystal-clear view of The Needles glistening in the distance.
The Noisy Lobster is not just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant hub of coastal life where great food, good company, and spectacular scenery come together beautifully.
A Buzzing Beachside Gem
From the moment we arrived, we could feel the energy and atmosphere. There’s something special about this place; from the Saltwater Sea Sauna next door to the lively takeaway area, shop, deli, and food store, the whole area is alive with people swimming, chatting, and making the most of the Dorset coastline. It’s a real hub of activity, yet the atmosphere remains relaxed and friendly.
We were seated in the restaurant with panoramic sea views, and honestly, you can’t get a bad table here. Whether you’re by the window or outside on the terrace, the views are stunning wherever you sit. Add in on-site parking and you’ve got the perfect destination for a relaxed weekend brunch by the beach.
Friendly Faces and Exceptional Service
The staff were brilliant; friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even though the restaurant was buzzing with families, friends, and couples, the service was smooth, cheerful, and perfectly timed.
A Brunch Menu with a Coastal Twist
The breakfast and brunch menu at The Noisy Lobster is far from ordinary. While you can enjoy a classic Full English (named Galf Force 8) or a Brioche Bap (with filling of choice),, the real appeal lies in the creative coastal dishes; think Lobster Benedict, crab potato hash, natural oysters, and steak and eggs for the ultimate protein hit. Every dish feels fresh, thoughtful, and unmistakably seaside-inspired.
We opted for two of their signature favourites:
-
Eggs Avocado — a vibrant mix of avocado and red pepper, poached eggs, dukkha, sourdough toast, wild mushroom and potato hash, spinach, and green salsa. Every mouthful was bursting with colour and flavour.
-
Eggs Royale — silky cured trout, perfectly poached eggs, and a toasted muffin topped with golden hollandaise. Simple, elegant, and absolutely delicious.
-
Wild mushroom and potato hash, spinach, green salsa, poached eggs
We couldn’t resist a side of their homemade hash browns, seasoned with fresh rosemary (genuinely the best hash browns I’ve ever had - crispy, herby, and full of flavour). To drink, we enjoyed Green Reviver smoothies, alongside freshly brewed teas and coffees, making for the perfect balance of wholesome and indulgent.
A Perfect Finish to a Perfect Morning
After brunch, we took a brisk walk along Avon Beach, soaking up the sea air before having a browse in the Noisy Lobster shop, and of course, taking away a few freshly baked cookies.
It was my first visit, and I can completely see why there’s so much hype around The Noisy Lobster. With friendly service, incredible food, and views that take your breath away, it’s not just somewhere to eat, it’s a destination that perfectly captures the Dorset coastal vibe.
