REVIEW: New Summer Menu at The Britannia, Parkstone

We were recently invited back to The Britannia in Parkstone to try their brand-new summer menu — and once again, it did not disappoint!

This time I went along with my dad for a lovely lunchtime visit, and we made the most of the sunshine by sitting outside. The garden area was the perfect spot for a relaxed, summery lunch — great food, great atmosphere, and such a nice way to spend the afternoon.

We started with a couple of their new cocktails — the Tennessee Mule and the Raspberry Mojito. Both were light and refreshing, not too sweet — just the right balance for a sunny day!

For starters, we had the Soy-glazed Mackerel, which was fresh and light, and the Pea, Broad Bean & Feta Croquettes — these were my absolute favourite! Crispy on the outside, packed with flavour, and paired with an incredible chipotle mayo that I’m still thinking about.

For mains, I went for the Award-Winning Butternut Squash, Chickpea & Jackfruit Pie with curry sauce and green beans. It was hearty, full of flavour, and a really creative twist on a classic. My dad had the Paprika & Maple-Glazed Roast Chicken, which came with a citrus salsa that cut through the sweetness perfectly — such a great combo.

Then came dessert… we shared the Chocolate & Amarena Cherry Torte and the Coconut Sticky Rice. While the torte was rich and delicious, it was the sticky rice that completely stole the show — light, tropical, and unexpectedly amazing. A real standout dish!

All in all, we had a brilliant lunch at The Britannia. The new menu is fresh, seasonal, and full of thoughtful, flavourful dishes. The service was lovely, the setting was gorgeous, and we left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

Highly recommend giving the new summer menu a try — especially if you can grab a spot in the sun!
