New Indian-Nepalese restaurant set to spice up Bournemouth

A new Indian-Nepalese restaurant is set to spice up the Bournemouth food scene.

The 29029, named after the height of Mount Everest in feet, has opened its fourth location in Poole Hill area of Bournemouth town centre.

Owner Amit Malla, inspired by his travels to India and Nepal, has brought an authentic cultural experience to the new restaurant.

During his travels, he collected 18 stunning paintings by renowned Nepalese artist Mahesh Acharya, whose work has been featured in South Korea and Japan.

These pieces, which cost around £1,500, now decorate the restaurant’s walls, adding to the exotic atmosphere.

This new opening joins Amit’s other successful 29029 restaurants in Wareham, Broadstone, and Lower Parkstone.

With the 29029 brand celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Amit aims to continue his streak of success with the new Bournemouth location.

The menu offers a diverse range of dishes, designed to cater to various tastes. Highlights include the curry labrador, a South Indian-style curry made with fresh coconut, lamb, or chicken.

Other standout options are cinnamon-glazed duck breast, modu morg (chicken breast with honey and coconut in a creamy sauce), duck curry with orange, and a wide selection of vegetarian and seafood dishes.

Behind these flavourful creations is head chef Khim Lal Kharel, who brings a wealth of experience from his work in Nepal, India, Dubai, and London.
