New Italian Bakery coming to Broadstone this July – with jobs up for grabs!

Broadstone is getting its own Italian Bakery this July, the third Dorset site for a name with a loyal following along the Isle of Purbeck.

Baking in Wareham since 2016 and in Swanage since taking on the century-old Haymans Bakery in 2022, the Italian Bakery is known for its artisan sourdoughs, focaccia, Sicilian lemon tarts and handmade sausage rolls in flavours from nduja to pesto and parmesan. It was featured in The Times Magazine's best bakeries round-up in 2023.

The Italian Bakery Group's expansion into Broadstone follows a string of recent accolades for the family-run business. Earlier this year, the Purbeck-based bakery secured two first-place awards and a second-place finish at the Western Region Bakery Championship in Devon, with its multi-seed sourdough and cheesecake brownie taking top honours and its Italian herb and olive sourdough earning runner-up recognition. The bakery has also been featured in The Times' list of the UK's 49 Best Bakeries, with its much-loved Dorset apple cake highlighted as a standout product. Building on its success, the team later partnered with Purbeck Ice Cream to create a Dorset apple ice cream, which quickly became a customer favourite.

Now it's Broadstone's turn and the team can't wait to become part of the community, and the buzz is already building ahead of opening.

To get the new shop up and running, they're on the hunt for new faces and are holding an open recruitment day later this month. Roles are up for grabs across front of house, chefs and the kitchen team, with flexible hours, day and evening shifts and competitive pay.

Once open, the Broadstone shop will bring the same overnight baking, a daily changing bread of the day and the warm welcome that's won the bakery its following across Purbeck.
