Stourfield Tavern Opens in Southbourne with a Warm Welcome

A new traditional pub has opened in Southbourne, with The Stourfield Tavern already making a strong first impression following a busy launch weekend.

Located on Seabourne Road, the pub is the latest venture from local restaurateur Matthew Betteridge, who set out to create a welcoming, social space for the community to enjoy. Opening its doors on 11 April, the venue saw a full house across the weekend, with visitors praising its relaxed atmosphere and classic pub feel.

At the heart of the offering is a focus on traditional favourites, including a popular Sunday carvery made with locally sourced meats from Meadowbrook Produce in Christchurch. Alongside this, guests can expect bar snacks, themed food nights and regular events such as pie and curry evenings, all designed to bring people together.

With its nod to the charm of 1970s and 80s pubs, The Stourfield Tavern blends nostalgia with a fresh, local energy. Named after the area’s historic roots, it’s already shaping up to be a well-loved addition to Southbourne’s growing food and drink scene.
