Poole Harbour Festival's 10th Anniversary Was One for the Books

If there was one event that proved just how good Dorset's festival scene can be this summer, it was Poole Harbour Festival.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, this year's festival was nothing short of phenomenal.

We visited across both Saturday and Sunday, spending hours exploring the site, watching the acts, trying the food, soaking up the atmosphere and seeing exactly why so many people return year after year.

Yes, it was busy. Thousands of people packed into Baiter Park across the weekend. But what really impressed us was just how incredibly well organised everything was.

From the moment we arrived, the whole festival felt welcoming, friendly and relaxed. The queues moved quickly, the bars were well staffed, the food vendors offered plenty of choice, the toilets were clean (a rarity at festivals!) and despite the huge crowds, it never felt chaotic.

A Weekend Packed with Highlights

Saturday delivered an incredible mix of nostalgia, singalongs and festival favourites.

We loved seeing Republica, while Artful Dodger turned out to be one of the surprise highlights of the weekend. The tribute acts celebrating Fleetwood Mac, Stereophonics and Adele were brilliant, The Fratellis had the crowd bouncing, Heather Small was as iconic as ever and Groove Armada rounded off the evening with an unforgettable headline set - with everyone up and dancing!

Then came Sunday.

If Saturday set the bar high, Sunday somehow raised it even further.

UK Queen absolutely owned the Big Top Stage. I've seen them on the main stage the last few years but absolutely loved the sound and energy in the Big Top - the performers were clearly lapping up the energy too. From the opening songs through to the encore, the atmosphere was electric. Thousands of people were singing every word, arms in the air, with a real sense of togetherness that only live music can create.

Over in the Dance Tent, N-Trance had the crowd packed in, delivering hit after hit with huge energy and plenty of nostalgia. It was impossible not to join in.

And when Kaiser Chiefs took to the stage, the whole festival came alive once again. The atmosphere was incredible, with thousands of festivalgoers singing along from start to finish in a headline performance that was the perfect way to celebrate ten years of Poole Harbour Festival.

More Than Just the Music

One of the biggest surprises was just how family-friendly the whole weekend felt.

We brought our children along and there were families everywhere enjoying the festival together. With children's entertainment, plenty of open space, multiple stages, fantastic food and a relaxed atmosphere, it never felt like a festival designed only for adults.

It's rare to find an event that genuinely caters for music lovers of every generation, but Poole Harbour Festival manages it effortlessly.

A Huge Congratulations to the Team, events of this scale don't happen by accident.

Behind the scenes is an enormous amount of planning, organisation and hard work, and it showed in every detail throughout the weekend.

From the production and staging to the facilities, transport, staffing and overall visitor experience, everything felt polished and professionally delivered.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing together such an outstanding 10th anniversary celebration.

Already Looking Ahead to Next Year

The stages have now been packed away, but if this year's festival is anything to go by, we'd highly recommend keeping an eye out for Poole Harbour Festival 2027.

When tickets go on sale... book them.
