Beaulieu Unveils A Palace House Christmas: A Festive Experience Like No Other

This Christmas, Beaulieu is set to sparkle with the launch of an enchanting new festive experience, A Palace House Christmas. Designed by acclaimed creatives Charlotte Lloyd Webber and Adrian Lillie of CLW Event Design, this unique event will transform Beaulieu’s historic Palace House into a magical theatrical journey celebrating the history of pantomime.

A Theatrical Christmas at Beaulieu

From the moment visitors step inside, they will be immersed in a world of wonder. Stately rooms will be reimagined with soundscapes, multi-colour projections, and masked Harlequin mannequins that bring the story of pantomime to life.

Highlights of A Palace House Christmas include:

• A Harlequin Welcome: masked mannequins greet guests on arrival, before leading the way to a dramatic midnight banquet scene in the dining hall.
• Pollock Theatre Magic: in the lower drawing room, a life-size Pollock theatre set will showcase original artwork by Belinda, Lady Montagu.
• Panto Animals & Portraits: the portrait gallery will be transformed with pantomime animals from different eras.
• Behind the Curtain: above the grand staircase, visitors will explore “dressing rooms” filled with feathers, floristry and theatrical gowns.
• The Upper Drawing Room Spectacle: home to a 14ft pantomime dame and a mirrored catwalk lined with mannequins.
• A Harlequin Christmas Tree: a dazzling 20ft centrepiece Christmas tree dressed in Harlequin style to complete the festive scene.

More Than Just Christmas at Palace House

Entry to A Palace House Christmas is included with a Beaulieu admission ticket, giving visitors the chance to enjoy not only the festive spectacle, but also the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu Abbey, and the beautiful grounds.
