We recommend

Set in a beautiful countryside location with plentiful free parking, this boutique reformer Pilates studio offers the perfect mix of tranquillity and motivation. Being just steps from The Barn Café (with a brand-new deli opening soon), it’s an ideal spot to enjoy a post-class coffee and well-earned treat.
The studio is run by Millie and Tim, a fantastic ex-military husband-and-wife team who have channelled their experience into creating a functional, form-focused fitness space. With the rise of strength training and Hyrox-style workouts, people are pushing their bodies harder than ever, and often collecting a few niggles along the way. Vagabond Pilates offers the perfect balance: a fun, challenging and body-kind way to build strength, stability and overall fitness.
I practise Pilates fairly regularly, but this class definitely cranked things up a notch in the best possible way. The reformer machines brought a whole new dimension to the workout, and we both felt like we’d done something amazing for our bodies and minds.
Although our first thought when seeing the reformer machines was “how on earth are we going to get the hang of this?”, Millie and Tim quickly put us at ease. They are fantastic instructors; explaining everything clearly and guiding us through each movement with confidence. Even in a rookie (first-timer) class, you still get the full benefit of the session.
They move around the studio to ensure everyone is using the equipment safely and effectively, helping you achieve the correct form and full range of motion in every exercise. We worked every part of the body starting with legs, moving into upper body, and finishing with core. The final stretches were exactly what we needed, and we left feeling energised, lengthened and completely reset.
One of the things that really stood out was the personality of the space. The studio is filled with quirky and comical touches that made us smile throughout, a lovely reminder that fitness doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly serious. It’s a welcoming, uplifting place that instantly puts you at ease.
Vagabond Pilates offers group and private sessions suitable for all levels, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned reformer fan. They even host team-building sessions as well as stag, hen and birthday parties, which would be such a fun and unique activity. Their success has been so incredible that they’re opening a brand-new studio in Blandford this month, a testament to just how loved this Pilates experience has become.
Whether you’re looking to build strength, recover from more intense training or simply try something new, Vagabond Pilates is a brilliant addition to the Dorset fitness scene. We loved it, and we can’t wait to go back.
