The Sunray Osmington

Luxury holiday accommodation and a premium food led pub on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

Set in the historic village of Osmington, on the edge of Weymouth, The Sunray is a much-loved Dorset landmark whose story dates back to 1933.

For generations, it served as a meeting place for locals and travellers alike, and during the First World War it was reportedly a discreet retreat for senior army officers and generals, drawn by its secluded setting, sweeping views, and quiet sense of escape.

Nearly a century later, The Sunray is being thoughtfully and respectfully brought back to life.

Every element of the original pub has been carefully considered and restored, preserving its character while reimagining it for a new chapter. Alongside the revived pub, a collection of luxury holiday cottages has been created, designed to sit naturally within their surroundings while offering exceptional comfort, privacy, and style.

Blending timeless materials with contemporary design, the cottages provide calm, beautifully finished spaces made for slowing down, reconnecting, and staying a little longer. Whether visiting for the coast, the countryside, or simply the experience of somewhere special, The Sunray offers a rare combination of heritage, atmosphere, and understated luxury.

Reopening on 1st May, The Sunray will once again be a place to gather, escape, and make memories, just as it has been for nearly a century.
