Bournemouth-based Salt & Sage is bringing luxury beach picnics and handcrafted grazing boards to the Dorset coast.

There are few things nicer than good food by the sea, and a Bournemouth small business has built its whole offering around exactly that.

Salt & Sage creates grazing picnics and charcuterie boards along the south coast, styling everything from the blankets to the boards so you can simply turn up and enjoy. The coastal picnics are pitched as a stress-free seaside escape, with a thoughtfully styled set-up of cosy blankets, soft cushions, elegant tableware and coastal decor, finished with handcrafted boards of cheeses, cured meats, crackers, chutney, hummus and plenty of nibbles. Picnic packages start from £70.

If you'd rather bring the experience home, there are takeaway options too. Handcrafted charcuterie boxes start from £50 and are aimed at cosy nights in or gifting, while the breakfast grazing boards, from £35, come loaded with pastries, fresh and dried fruit, prosciutto, sliced cheese, yoghurts, nuts and biscuits. The breakfast boards have proved especially popular with bridal parties getting ready for the big day, and they can even liven up a corporate breakfast meeting.

Behind it all is founder Laura, a mum of two with a background in hospitality and events management. She explains on the website that Salt & Sage grew out of a life's-too-short mindset in 2025, fuelled by a lifelong love of the south coast and of bringing people together over good food. Growing up by the sea shaped the whole idea, and she describes designing the set-ups as something that comes from the heart.
