Bridport’s Beach & Barnicott bar reopens under new owners

The Beach & Barnicott on South Street in Bridport has reopened under its new owners Sean O’Shea and Karl Caddick.

As they adapt to running the Beach & Barnicott, O’Shea and Caddick have said that the bar won’t open every day initially, but have promised a huge opening party on Friday, 30th May 2025, which they are hosting in Bucky Doo Square. 

Due to the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic, the original Beach & Barnicott was forced to close in October 2021. 

The bar aims to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and will also offer drinks until 2 a.m. 

O’Shea and Caddick have plenty of experience in hospitality; they already run the Lyme Bay in Lyme Regis and have said that the Beach & Barnicott will be similar to this, with a bar on the ground floor and a restaurant area above. 

Once fully opened, the venue is sure to inject some fresh energy into Bridport’s town centre.
