Compton Acres Plant Centre
About: Located in the large privately owned garden Compton Acres, you could easily spend a full morning or afternoon mooching around The Plant Centre. Perhaps take some inspiration from their stunning grounds and gardens and then visit their shop to take a little away with you?
The Plant Centre at Compton Acres supplies a wide range of perennials, shrubs and seasonal bedding plants. They specialise in unusual and exotic plant species, including a number found within the grounds themselves. Some of their most popular plants include Acers, Rhododendrons and top quality David Austin Roses.
You'll also find pots and sculptures, bird care, indoor plants, garden tools, solar lighting, and a variety of seeds and bulbs.
As it's a part of the estate, why not pop in to the cafe while you're there for a treat?

Chestnut Nursery
About: Chestnut Nursery is a garden plant nursery which grows and sells a range of bedding, perennials, climbers, shrubs, grasses, bamboos, ferns, herbs, conifers, fruit trees and exotic. You can also buy compost, pots, honey, coal and logs. It's conveniently located adjacent to the western entrance of Poole Park, it occupies the former Poole Council nursery site and is open to the public six days a week.
Chesnut Nursery is a mental health charity project run by volunteers.

The Old Piggery Garden Centre
About: The Old Piggery Garden Centre site is based in Lytchett Matravers just 6 miles from the centre of Poole. It has had significant restoration and is a magical gardening experience in stunning grounds. You can find anything from bedding plants, shrubs, perennials, specimen trees and more. They have a great selection of terracotta pots, french gardenalia and garden furniture

B&Q Poole
About: Although B&Q isn't a dedicated garden centre it has everything you need for your gardening projects. Seasonal plants, pots, furniture, tools, fencing - you name it, they have it. You can order online and click and collect too for convenience
