Run Bournemouth Half Marathon 2025 - A Spectacular Day on Dorset’s Coast

What a day! We spent Sunday cheering on runners at the Run Bournemouth Half Marathon, and it was impossible not to get caught up in the energy. Among the participants were Elysia Dayman our Relationships and Events Manager here at Total, alongside many familiar faces including clients of Total Dorset and members of TBN, all raising funds for local charities. It was a wonderful mix of community, sport, and goodwill.

The Race & Top Finishers

Seeing those performances in person was inspiring those athletes pushed hard (although managed to look effortless, and the crowd support was electric all along the route.

Atmosphere & Conditions

The atmosphere was simply amazing. Houses, cafes, and locals along the route came out in force to cheer; there were claps, cowbells, high-fives, and encouraging shouts. You could feel the buzz all the way from the start to the finish.

Even the weather played its part: mild conditions, no wind, and light cloud cover. It was ideal running weather; not too hot, not too cold and perfect for a strong race day.

Community Spirit & Local Support

What made the day extra special was the number of local runners and supporters. So many Total Dorset readers, TBN members, and local charity runners were out there, pushing themselves and cheering each other on. Elysia’s presence on the team was a lovely touch, and it was a joy to see her and so many familiar faces out on the course.

Charity fundraising was woven throughout the event, with participants raising money for local causes. It made the race more than a competition, it was a day of community giving and local pride.

Why Bournemouth Half Is a Must

  • Stunning coastal route - passing both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers and along the seafront.

  • Friendly but competitive field - elite runners, club athletes, charity entrants — everyone’s together.

  • Supportive locals - the cheering never died out, and spectators made it a memorable event.

  • Charity and community focus - many running for causes, building local connections.

Final Thoughts

The Bournemouth Half Marathon 2025 was a fantastic showcase of Dorset running events at their best - competitive, fun, and community-focused. Whether you’re an experienced runner, a charity participant, or just cheering from the sidelines, it’s an event that leaves a lasting impression. Congratulations to all the runners, to Elysia and the team, and to everyone involved in making it such a special day.
