Forest Holme Hospice Charity
Forest Holme Hospice Charity help ensure that everyone in the community affected by life-limiting illness or bereavement, gets the care and support they need, either at home or in their dedicated hospice facility.
NHS funding is limited, which is why they need to raise £1 million each year so that their team can deliver the highest level of care, when and where it counts.
Forest Holme Hospice Charity supports the life-enhancing work of Forest Holme Hospice, part of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. Established on 26 April 1994 as Friends of Forest Holme, it was created to fundraise for a specialist palliative care unit.
The charity funds additional nursing staff, counselling services, complementary therapies, medical equipment, and improvements that help create a more homely hospice environment.
The charity aims to ensure that every adult in the community with a life-limiting illness has equal access to high-quality palliative support wherever and whenever it is needed, improving quality of life. Its mission is to enhance the lives of adults in Dorset through clinical excellence, compassionate care, and outstanding service.
It is committed to providing emotional and practical support, advancing innovation and research, promoting equitable services, supporting training and education, and raising funds efficiently. Its work is guided by core values of being ambitious, approachable, cost-effective, person-centred, and transparent in delivering world-class palliative care.
