Bus travel: an affordable way to explore as fuel prices rise

A new initiative - launched by Morebus called Love Where you Live - is designed to encourage more people to re-discover attractions closer to home.

The move comes in response to rising fuel costs and some overseas holidays being off the agenda - due to the ongoing conflict of the Middle East.

“Whilst the cost of driving has surged in recent months, bus travel remains an accessible alternative, with fares just £3 or less per trip on many routes,” said Nikki Honer, Morebus head of communications. 

“Our Love Where You Live initiative is helping residents and visitors alike continue exploring their local area, without the financial strain associated with higher petrol and diesel costs. 

“There are many joys and hidden gems across our area, and bus travel is an easy, affordable, and stress-free way to explore them.

“Single fares are capped at £3 or less. With long distances - like Poole to Swanage or Bournemouth to Salisbury - included in that price, it offers excellent value for money.”

Families can benefit from Morebus’ value-for-money fares too - with up to two children under the age of seven travelling free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. 

Anyone travelling with friends or family can also benefit from group tickets - allowing unlimited travel across multiple services throughout the day.

Planning journeys is easy, with timetables and information available online and via the Morebus mobile app. Passengers can also make use of the app to track their buses in real time.
