New Restaurant Opens at Bournemouth Airport: A Fresh Pre-Flight Dining Experience for Travellers

Travellers flying from Bournemouth Airport now have something new to look forward to before take-off, as a stylish new bar and restaurant brings a fresh food and drink experience to the departure lounge.

The newly opened Bourne & Acre Bar and Kitchen has taken over the airport’s previous dining space, introducing a modern, locally inspired setting designed to enhance the overall passenger experience. Drawing influence from the nearby River Bourne and the town’s iconic gardens, the venue blends a sense of place with contemporary airport dining.

With space for around 300 guests, the restaurant has been designed to cater for the varying needs of travellers throughout the day. Whether you’re catching an early morning flight or settling in ahead of an afternoon departure, the menu offers a wide range of options to suit every schedule.

Breakfast is well covered, with classic choices like a full English, eggs Benedict and fluffy American-style pancakes providing a strong start to the day. As the day progresses, the all-day menu expands to include comforting favourites such as British beef burgers, chicken schnitzel, katsu curry and traditional fish and chips, alongside lighter bites, salads and plant-based dishes.

The drinks offering is equally comprehensive, with a well-stocked bar serving everything from wines and beers to cocktails and alcohol-free alternatives. Families travelling through the airport are also well catered for, thanks to a dedicated children’s menu designed to make pre-flight dining easier for parents.

The arrival of Bourne & Acre forms part of a wider programme of improvements at Bournemouth Airport, which has seen significant investment over the past year. Upgrades include an expanded baggage reclaim area with larger carousels, a newly developed arrivals and immigration space, and additional parking to accommodate growing passenger numbers.

Following a record-breaking summer season in 2025, where passenger figures rose significantly to over a million travellers between spring and autumn, the airport has been focused on ensuring its facilities evolve in line with demand. Enhancing the food and drink offering is a key part of that strategy, helping to create a more enjoyable and seamless journey for passengers.

Today, Bournemouth Airport connects travellers to more than 40 destinations and plays a vital role in the regional economy, supporting hundreds of jobs and contributing significantly to the local area each year.

The opening of Bourne & Acre signals a step up in the Bournemouth airport experience, transforming pre-flight waiting time into an opportunity to relax, dine well and start your journey in style.
