Swanage Beach

Swanage Beach has a well-earned reputation for being a good place to soak up the sun and play in the sand and sea.

Swanage combines a Victorian-style seaside resort with a sheltered, calm, gently sloping sandy beach that runs the entire length of the town. It boasts a beautiful clean beach and water and has been awarded a Blue Flag status for 22 consecutive years in a row.

Entertainments include the pier and amusements, crazy golf, canoeing and/or kayaking, swimming and bathing, and many other water-sports too. Beach huts, boats, deck chairs, loungers, and pedalos are available for hire.

Accessibility:

The beach is accessible off the promenade by steps and via two ramps, one by the Mowlem Theatre and the other by The Banjo Pier.

Dogs:

Please note that from 1st May until 30th September each year dogs are not permitted on the Council-owned Central Beach (Main Beach). However, pet owners are welcome to use 'Monkey Beach' all year round which is located between the old Stone Quay and Swanage Pier.
